About Theme of Calendar -2017:
Sri Manmadhwacharya pratiShThita and karArchita Udupi Sri Krishna is worshipped fourteen times a day by the ParyAya Swamiji and others. The rituals begin at dawn and go late in to the night. The fourteen main rituals are 1. nirmAlya visarjana pUje 2. ushaHkAla pUje 3. akshayapAtra- gOpUje 4. panchAmRtAbhishekha pUje 5. udvartana pUje 6. kalasha pUje 7. tIrtha pUje 8. alaMkAra pUje 9. avasara sanakAdi pUje 10. mahA pUje 11. chAmara sevA pUje 12. rAtri pUje 13. maMTapa pUje 14. shayanOtsava pUje.
The first ten of these pUjAs take place in the forenoon and the remaining four in the evening. In this way the Lord of fourteen worlds is offered fourteen types of pUjAs everyday. During AlaMkAra pUje, the Sri Krishna is decorated differently each day to present a new image to the devotees. The only part of Sri Krishna not covered is His face. Sri Krishna is decorated as the incarnations of Matsya, KUrma and ParashurAma or RAma on different occasions.
