Dear Haribhaktas,
MYP’s Two-Day Workshop on “upAsanA parikrama” held at Bhandarkeri near Udupi, during Dec 25-26, 2009 was a grand success.
We at MYP, are fortunate enough to have the kAruNya of Sri Hari Vayu GurugaLu for providing us all, an opportunity to get together at a serene place – Bhandarakeri, about 400 Kms away from the jostles of the City, and gain knowledge of most essential aspects of nityAnuShThana and understand right anusaMdhAna as enshrined in Madhwa siddhAnta, from the renowned Scholars- A rare event by MYP for the first time.
We are also immensely grateful to HH Sri 1008 Sri Vidyesha Theertha Swamiji of Sri
Bhandarkeri Mutt, who consented to preside over this Two-Day workshop and also offered his anugraha saMdEsha, in addition Swamiji was kind enough to host the entire event at Bhandarkeri Mutt, near Udupi and let inmates of the Mutt took care of all our needs.
The Two-Days workshop – upAsanA parikrama has been accomplished, which signifies only the beginning of sAdhanA mArga for the participants.
There was an overwhelming response from 70+ participants, as this was first outstation event by MYP, who could really feel the divine and serene atmosphere, cleanliness and friendly Mutt premises, arrangements done for the benefit and needs of the participants.
Some of the Salient Features of this Big Event are :
1. The serene atmosphere, cast away location and divine sAnidhya of Sri Hari Vayu GurugaLu at Bhandarkeri Mutt.
2. The divine guidance of HH Sri Sri Vidyesha Theertha Swamiji and his total involvement in
the proceedings throughout the Workshop.
3. The saMsthAna pUje, pravachanas, upanyAsas from HH Swamiji.
4. The content coverage and presentation by Scholars, spread across two days in different
sessions.
5. sAmoohika events of – prAtah vidhis, sAyam saMdhya, , prANAyAma, Yoga etc.
6. Samptuous PrasAda. UphAra, pAnIya with courteous offerings from the Mutt added value
after every session of jnAna doota from the jnAnigaLu.
7. The cleanliness of the mutt and its vastness, which made few people get lost inside the
premises itself.
8. A humble contribution from MYP Dhanwantri Nidhi to the wife of the Archakaru, Sri
Subramanya Bhat as she got both her ankles fractured while supervising the cleaning of the sarOvara.
9. Release of the MYP 2010 Calendars.
10. Ashirvada sahitha phala mantrakshate from HH Swamiji with an Adesha of conducting
several such events at the same venue in the coming days.
Highlights of Two-Days Event:
Day-1: Friday, Dec 25th:
Participants reached Bhandarkeri Mutt late due to Road blocks enroute from Bangalore.
The Event / workshop was inaugurated by by HH Sri8 Vidyesha Theertha Swamiji, Sri
Bhandarkeri Mutt followed by an Inaugural address byHH Swamiji. First session on SandhyAvanadane was skipped due to late arrival. Vid. Dr.Sathayanarayanacharya, Vid.
Korlhalli Venkateshacharya dealt with Dhyana, BimbarUpa Chintane thru an audio.visual
presentation and practical session too.
That was followed by Samuhika Sayam Sandhyavandana / Samuhika samkirtana / Pradakshine, PujNamaskara etc. After Sayama Puja and Tottilu Puje and Mahamanagalarati by HH Swamiji, RAthri upahara / Oota was served to all participants.
Day-2: Saturday, Dec 26th:
The Second day of the event started with Prataha Stotra and Snaana vidhi (guidance from the Vidwans) followed by Aahnika / Japa / Pooje & SamsthAna Pooje by SrigaLu on account of Dhanurmasa.
After Laghu Upahara, Session on Praanayama by HH Swamiji, (with demo & training by Vid.
Korlahalli Acharya) and BimbarUpa Chintane part 2 continued, After this, Maha mangaLArathi by HH Swamiji, Bhikshe offerings to HH sawmiji, TheerthaPrasada was served to participants.
We assembled again for a Session on Manasa Puje by Vid, Korlahalli Acharya, (Demo and
training). Then, we had a Concluding Session of the Event at Bhandarkeri with anugraha
sandesha by HH Swamiji followed by Phala Mantakshate from Swamiji to all participants.
We all had to pack up from Bhandarkeri and reach Udupi after visiting Palimaru. The event was ended with a visit to Sri Palimaru Moola Mutt at Palimaru, darshan of Sri Vedavyasaru, Sri mukhya prANA dEvaru,sayam sandhya at the sarOvara, darshana of Magnificient Moola
brindavana of Sri Vidya Manya Theertharu along with several other yathigaLu of Sri Palimaru Mutt-Sri RajaRajeshwara Theertharu etc.
After Divine and blissful darshana of UDUPI Sri Krshna, we started from UDUPI to reach B’lore safely on the third day Morning, the Sunday, Dec 27.
We immensely thank the HH Swamiji, Mutt staff and Vidwans for their time and efforts to
take care of all of us by way of providing jnAnadoota, gAnadoota and rasadoota.
We express our deep gratitudes to – Vidwan Dr. Satyanarayanacharya, Vidwan Sri. Korlahalli Venkateshcharya, Vidwan Sri Adwe Lakshmeeshacharya for their magnanimous knowledge sharing, patient hearing and responses to all the queries regarding the content of the workshop.
We are also thankful to -Sri Subramanya Bhat – Chief Priest at Bhandarkeri Mutt, Sri SriRamana Acharya – Manager, Sri Palimaru Mutt, for their help, co-operation and being perfect hosts.
MYP event management team wishes to thank all our participants for their active involvement, patience and tolerant co-operation to execute this workshop. Many of the people who were part of the workshop and few others have contributed liberally to this event, we thank each one of them for the gesture and help extended. We also would like to immensely thank the last minute involvement and help from Sri Phaniraj and Sri Venkatesh Deshpande in reducing few of the burdens from the Organizers’ side.
